Samantha Therrien’s work primarily focuses on the psychological reactions influenced by cultural, political and social conflicts induced by structural hierarchies. Therrien’s work evokes a strong sense of conflict and discomfort, questioning the integrity and values of social norms, trends and systems created by society. Therrien draws a lot of her subject matter from her own dreams and internal conflicts, therefore her work can be described as a personal journal.
